The Sherwood Amateur Radio Club (SARC) will be active on most bands from Friday, May 4-7 from Southwell Racecourse for ‘The Big Weekend’ camp.

SARC is putting on a Special Event Station GB1TBW for Nottinghamshire Scouts at their “The Big Weekend” camp. There will be over 3500 scouts attending, and as well as promoting Amateur Radio and giving the Scouts hands on experience, they will also be participating in mini ARDF challenges around the camp.

The Club’s Aim is to promote Amateur Radio in the East Midlands, allowing youngsters, teenagers, adults to learn what is needed to become Amateur Operators. They conduct Amateur Radio Courses of all three levels when needed, no matter how many students there are.

The Club is also a part of Nottingham RAYNET, providing emergency communications for the User Services and supporting local charity events.

For further information on the club contact Edward Rippon M0EPR – m0epr.sarc at yahoo.com or call 07974 491 299
